Disney Figment

Figment, a small purple dragon appeared at Epcot on Oct -1 -1982. Figment is one of our favorite characters  and we are avid figment collectors. Not only is he one of our favorite characters but he is also the mascot of Epcot.

The Journey of imagination pavilion opened with the rest of EPCOT Center on October 1, 1982, but the actual ride did not open until March 5, 1983. (It was revamped in 1999 to the dismay of figment fans)  Dreamfinder  a jolly wizard-like scientist, teaches Figment how to use his imagination. Hence why we have the phrase  “figment of the imagination”. According to Dreamfinder, Figment is made up of  items he found on his travels. Figment is present as “two tiny wings, large yellow eyes, the horns of a steer, a crocodile’s snout, and the childish delight found at a birthday party. Figment is described in detail in the Dreamfinder’s song “One Little Spark” (by the Sherman Brothers).

Dreamfinder introduces him: “Two tiny wings, eyes big and yellow, horns of a steer, but a lovable fellow. From head to tail, he’s royal purple pigment, and there, voila, you’ve got a Figment.”

For John and I, Figment represented so much more for without our imagination  one only know where we would be. Hence we started our Figment Collection.

Since our Collection is SO large, we are going to break it up. Sit back, click on a link and enjoy.
